ENGLAND LOST! BRAZIL LOST! so darn unexpected! buy.. YAY! i'm happy that they lost! haha :D now germany will play france in the finals! YESSSS~ my poor poor italy will have to play germany for semi's. nooooo! never mind, GO ITALY!
anyway, went to church without daddy today since he had to go back to work. had sermon and i must admit preacher lawrence's sermon was extremely good! on of the best this year. i've never felt so so.. passionate to give again. for many months i've lost touch with God. never prayed, never asked for guidence unless it was necessary. just like the chinese saying "ping re bu shao xiang, jin re bao fuo jiao" basically, it means that you don't keep the relationship with God until it comes to the time of panic and necessity, you would do anything (even hugging his leg) to ask him for it. just that its in the context of bhudda.
here's two stories he shared during sermon.
Two Jewish brothers owned a farm. One had a family of seven children while the other was single. Both were about 50 years old. During harvest, the brothers decided to split the harvest into half. One stays on the left side of the field while the other stays on the right. That night after the harvest, the brother with seven children could not sleep. He tossed and turned but still he could not sleep. "My brother is not young any more and he has no one to look after him when he's older. Unlike me, I have seven children to look after me when I'm older." he thought. He then decided to give 2 bags of harvest to his brother, so he carried the two bags of harvest to his brother's barn and left it there. The next day, he opened up his barn and found the barn full again. "That's weird." he thought. That night he decided to give his brother two more bags of harvest. However, the next day his barn was full again. Because of this, he carried two bags of harvest to his brothers barn every night.
One night, as he was crossing the field, he bumped into his brother. His brother was carrying two bags of harvest as well. His brother was also thinking about him every night. He thought,"My brother has so many children while I am single. It's unfair of me to have half the harvest". SO he decided to carry two bags of harvest to his brother's barn.
isn't this story so sweet. (: God does love a cheerful giver. you reap what you sow.
story number 2.
An orphanage has not enough food to feed all the children. So the chicken in the orphanage decided to do something to help the children. The chicken went to the pig as said," Let's help the children. I need to sit on my nest for hours and hours to get an egg. So i will sit on my nest until i get enough eggs. For you, you can give ham."
haha. so cute. Moral of the story, God will ask many of us to give only eggs, but for some, those who are ready to give up their lives for God, to give ham.
after sermon, we sang the song Lord, I'll offer my life to you. I couldn't help it but to cry when i sang the song. I've realised, we should never sing songs that we do not mean and that song was one song that i was not ready to sing. Hopefully i'm able to sing it with all my heart and soul and mind one day.
went to Suntec for lunch and walked to Millenia Walk to watch PL ppl sing. haha. rather interesting. headed home after that. No school tomorrow! but there's training in the afternoon. BOO! triple jump heats are on friday morning. Wish me all the best (:
LOVES :D
